As part of a charitable organisation, 12th St John’s Scout Group relies heavily on fundraising and donations to keep our costs low. Below are some ways in which you can support us.

Under the rules set out by HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs) Gift Aid allows UK charities to claim back the 25p for every £1 on subs and donations. All we need is your permission. You can give this via OSM in seconds, saving us hours of paperwork. Last year alone we managed to claim over £2,000 for the group, all of which is spent to benefit our young people.

Group Uniform Shop

We have our own online clothing store for young people and adults connected to the Group. For every £1 spent, the Group receives 5p as part of its fundraising. Last year the shop raised over £80 for the group.

Ink Cartridges

12th St John’s Scout Group have teamed up with www.therecyclingfactory.com.  Hand your used printer ink cartridges to your leaders who will send them off to be recycled in return for a small donation to our Group for every cartridge we send in.

Volunteering

We’re always looking for new people to join our team, whether you’re able to lead a group or assist with administrative skills behind the scenes. Volunteering with the Group is incredibly rewarding; not only could you get the opportunity to learn new skills, build your confidence and benefit from the feel-good factor of giving something back to the local community, but also, you’ll be part of a friendly, fun and committed team.

The Ralph Fund

12th St John’s Scout Group is committed to providing opportunities for all young people to engage with Scouting. The Ralph Fund is a hardship fund established in the name of the original Scout Leader of the Group. It was set up to provide support for our members. The purpose of the Ralph Fund is to make Scouting available to all by providing fair access to funding to support members who are unable to participate due to financial hardship.

We are always looking for new ways to raise funds and gratefully accept donations at any time. If you would like to support us, please get in touch.
